講真,呢間野d食物真係好唔掂,簡直垃圾!!我o係翠屏住左10幾年,到o左中學無咩簡就食佢la,d食物黎得慢都唔在講,唔明點解落一樣ge order,我地叫先可以遲黎果d學生食先囉~有一次我無叫是日學生餐,而叫左餐牌上ge一個飯,足足等足我7個字,黎到已經好趕,點知食食下局然俾我食到條掃把果d紅色絲出黎,好肯定係掃把果d線,於是同佢講,佢講左句"無咩野,乾淨嫁,廚房果度整o左落去"((我夠知廚房整落去la,我問佢點處理,佢就叫我等一等,我以為佢搵經理,點知走左去落單,叫親d侍應都只聼到"等等".就係咁我叫左起碼5次,佢叫我等左5次.結果我夠鐘返學校,佢仲要求我俾埋果碟不知所謂ge飯ge錢((我已表明碟飯有問題)).講到尾,服務態度差到爆!~!!質素!?唔洗講la.飯就食唔到仲要俾錢,黑店*

Travel down memory lane and stumble across the Kitchen from HellThis is a review that should have been written ages ago, if only I could find out aboutOpenrice earlier.Yes, it's been quite a long while since I dined here.There are only two reasons an eating experience would linger in my mind for this long: either it's amazingly good or horrendously bad.In this case it's definitely the latter.Kit Yat is undoubtedly one of the worst places I have ever been to and I surely couldn't believe my eyes when I glanced through the list of restaurants in Kwun Tong and found that this shoddy kitchen is still surviving.I was just talking to my ex about this place over the phone and as someone who does not fuss about food surprisingly he could still remember it very clearly, apparently for the same wrong reason as mine.Before coming over to the UK I dined out quite often. Came across Kit Yat a lot but was never tempted to go in. Maybe it's because it just looked a bit hideous from the outside.One evening after being drained by a wholeday exam revision I was too tired to go too far to fix my empty stomach so decided to give this place a try.Unfortunately this minor adventure turned out to be totally unpleasant. The old time saying of never judge a book by its cover certainly doesn't apply here. The food and service were just as doggy as its hygiene and decor.I remember it's proper dinner time when my thenboyfriend and I got there but the place was hardly buzzing. In fact only a handful of tables were taken we could almost sit anywhere we liked. The lack of customers might be a telltell sign, but we were still determined to give it a good go.Initially I was quite impressed by the menu as a tiny place their choices were surprisingly substantial.But that's about it really.I couldn't recall all the dishes we ordered but two definitely popped up as they were exceptionally gross.One of them was Chilli Pepper Tofu.When the dish arrived my first impression was: it didn't look the part. I've had this dish million times and I expected the tofu to be deep fried until golden and crispy on the outside. Ours looked almost like it had only been stirfried. Well I was still going to give them the benefit of doubt as long as it tasted good. After the first bite it proved the cover of the book actually spoke for its content. The tofu was only lukewarm, which I personally thought was a crime as this dish has to be served steaming hot. It also tasted offensively bland.The whole point of the dish –the crispiness, the kick of spice and tinge of aroma were virtually nonexistent. The other dish I absolutely abhorred was the Granny's OldFashioned Chicken.This dish was certainly below the salt.The chicken looked and tasted like it's precooked well in advance and had been sitting in the kitchen far too long before being reheated in the microwave and served to us. The meat was dry and tough and to make it worse there were actually more bones than meat I almost believed the chicken was not killed manually but in fact died of anorexia!! All dishes came in extremely small portion but the fact that we still couldn't finish them said it all. The bill came at just short of 180 dollars (as far as I could remember), which didn't kill our wallet, only if the food was any good. Before my b/f paid up I took a peep at the bill and found out they actually overcharged uson one of the dishes. We believed it's just a careless mistake so pointed it out politely to one of the staff.The staff turned poker faced within split of second and reluctantly mumbled an entirely insincere, almost sarcastic apology, accompanied by a flash of disgust in his eyes. It was as if the “Billy no mates”thought we were stingy because we checked our bill and wouldn't just pay up whatever they asked. Well why should we be ripped off because of a "mistake??" they made!The whole experience was disappointing, to say the least. We didn't enjoy the food and were astounded by the appalling attitude of the staff.Having read the other reviews it seems I'm not alone. If up till now Kit Yat is still retaining the "high" standard since my first and also the very last visit, to call a spade a spade I would say it's a place you do not want to touch with a bargepole.

老老實實, 好幾年前幫襯過呢間野, 但由於當時食物質素真係太差, 未試過食茶餐廳早餐可以難食到咁, 所以從此blacklisted。

不過後來, 由於翠屏的食店選擇確係十分貧乏, 在揀無可揀之下, 終於鼓起敢氣再給此店一次機會, 卻又發覺食物質素改善了, 至少可以稱為一間合格的茶餐廳了, 所以陸陸續續都會幫襯o下。

其實此店的食物選擇都不算少, 例如有車仔麵, 又有炒粉麵同小菜套餐, 早餐又會有腸粉、炒麵和粥等餐供選擇, 質素也ok, 不過衰在lunch time無一般茶餐廳既公仔麵餐, 就確係唔係好慣。

小弟住翠屏邨1O年,此間健一小廚的食品或飲品都是垃圾,不論早餐或午餐及晚上果餐一樣係超級垃圾,價錢又不是平,隔離果間翠林園都係各有千秋,我每個晚餐會去藍田滙景或麗港城或觀塘搞掂!翠屏邨真係冇一間食店可以食第二次!好慘
