This restuarant used to be behind Sogo but now they moved to a better location. The food has been solid every time I go there and is a must try restuarant 🤔 I usually don't comment on open rice but this one really deserved a shoutout. Usually it is the perfect place for燒夜. The price is reasonable and the service is quite good.music is not bad, they also do deliver oo but I would recommend eating there instead.

Having moved to Hong Kong from Singapore for close to a year, this is the first time I was invited to the Happy Valley Race Course to experience the horse racing event, which is one of the most popular betting events here.Of course I am not going to cover horse racing here, my friends and I were still very hungry after some snacks bite inside the race course, so we decided to go for late night dinner in Happy Valley.My friend was living there so of course we listen to his recommendation, which he suggest Japanese Yakitori, partly that there are not much choices as most restaurants were closed by the time we head there around 10:45pm, and also that the skewers were really good.When we arrived at the store front, to be honest I was a little disappointed, as it is a small restaurant with very simple decoration, not the kind of Vibe place that I expect my friend will bring me over.When the 4 of us step in, the restaurant was actually quite crowded, with most of the tables being occupied (but the restaurant is small so that might be the reason why).To my surprise the waiter speaks fluent English, which is pretty rare in Hong Kong unless you go to upscale Western restaurant, so I suspect that is the owner of the shop.Of course, my friend takes the liberty to order table full of dishes for us to enjoy, mainly as a way to let me forget the money I donate for the night to HKJC. The first to come is ToFu Salad which is good, the vegetables are fresh and the sauces are refreshing. Skewers of all kinds .. Beef, Chicken Wings, Chicken Soft Bones, Tongues, Pork follow are all great.The skins are grilled to crispy and the meat still very tender, and since the chef grill them on an open area, I can see that the meat are all fresh without preseasoning.I admit I like the Wings most, while the beef are all using Prime Grade beef which is so tender with good flavours.The Yakitori place also have other dishes apart from skewers.We have order fried Snapper, which is highly recommended by the waiter.It comes with 67 small pieces, fried to golden color and no bones inside (I hate fish bones). The special thing is the way they fried the fish scale, definitely a MUST try.The last dish that we had before desserts is the Foie Gras & Egg Rice, and man ...this is the most evil dish for me as I am already high on cholesterol so shall stay away from it.However, I really cannot resists the temptation as there are 2 thick slices of Foie Gras pan fried to perfection, with 2 sunny sideup eggs on the side, blended it with the rice and every spoon you consume is so enriching.I am not a big fan of desserts but their grilled Pineapple is really the best way to end the day, fresh Pineapple cut in front of you and grilled for about 5 minutes, then put some sugar on top, I am sure if you bring your GF with you, she will not be able to resists ordering a 2nd one.We were there for about 2 hours and the only complaint is that I am slightly build and tall, so having sit in a tiny stool like chair for all the time is a bit of a stretch for me.But talking about the food quality, definitely a pleasant surprise and I like to thank my buddy for bringing me to this small Yakitori shop, I regret my initial feeling of disappointment.The bill is around $1500 for 4 person, which is about the same as the other Yakitori stores I have tried in TST.

well the taste is ok.my wife and i tried it using some discount program. we were the only ones in the whole restuarant for the entire meal (ok its a Thursday )again the taste is ok, nothing wrong with itbut location location my friend. happy valley is well known to be a very quiet place, so quiet that most shops in happy valley cannot find tenants for years. the restuarants that survived are either older brands or more general/quick n easy typeand sadly if this restuarant wants to last in this tragic location, it will prob do something more amazing or have the capital to last for yrs to make a name out of itselfi wouldnt dare to open a restuarant in happy valley to be honest, its too hard

過年必須做的就是與親友拜年。

今天剛剛到了跑馬地拜完年後,已經7點幾,所以我與太太便在附近尋找食店醫肚。

據聞景光街有很多餐廳所以便朝着那條街前去,過年食了許多餐中國菜今天便選擇食日本野,在景光街行了兩三間鋪便見到門口有一個大大日本燈籠,格調好似幾高嘅爈端燒店,便進去嘗試一下。

電動門一開便看到一個開放式燒吧,看來幾專業。

但地方不大,估計大概只有10張枱,但有點像日本後巷那種隠世小店。

服務員態度不錯很快便招呼我們坐下,同時推薦了幾樣該店的招牌菜,其中我們點了厚燒牛脷,燒大鳝,黑毛豬肋條,燒秋葵,紫蘇枊葉夾及中華冷麵。

平時好少食秋葵但燒出嚟效果又幾好,其他燒肉大概15分鐘後便送到。

見到熱辣辣燒肉從燒爐即時送上放在枱上,已聞到香味。

師傅燒功好似唔錯,燒到金黃嘅牛脷好大塊又好厚,雖然分量十足但我覺得厚了點,不過味道非常好。

豬肋條據侍應介紹是用上等黑毛豬,食落好鬼有豬肉味又有咬口非常不錯。

本人不是非常鍾意食鱔魚,但太太喜歡,而當燒鱔送到時我太太即是好開心,因為睇落魚身非常厚,皮焼至脆脆而肉質仍是很鮮味。

看太太樣子便知道佢非常滿意。

燒物整體值得「讚」。

不可不提是紫蘇枊葉夾,從未在其他日本店嘗試過,一碟4件炸至金黃,柳葉夾着好像是沙甸魚,食落味道非常特別,尤其你喜歡柳葉便更加鍾意。

最後上中華冷面係凍食,略嫌麵質有點硬但整體味道配合炸過蒜頭粒非常香口,又不太油膩係唔錯嘅主食選擇。

吃完整體好滿意,但因地方不大可能不是太適合一大班朋友敘舊,但三五知己飲酒食串燒是一個非常好嘅地方。

埋單每人三百幾蚊不算平也不算貴。
