As everyone knows, battling around the crowd in Central for a 1hour lunch break is not always easy. And you only have a few options to work around it.1) You byo lunch (but the constraint is that we don't have microwave at our work place for some bizzare reason unless you wanna byo your rice cooker or steamer too lol)2) You order delivery (that's easy but you will be sitting at your desk like a fat cat the whole day)3) You fight through the crowd @ Stanley St/ Wellington St (and fingerscrossed you would not bump into your boss if you are back to office late that day)4) You jump pass the crowd, crawling uphill to Soho or going further down to Sheung Wan (and that’s what I did … occasionally)On that cloudy showering arvo, my colleagues and I went to IL CAFFE for lunch. Going uphill didn’t take too much effort as we basically rocked up a few levels of the midlevel escalator, rolled 1 block down and we were there. That area has one or two quirky decoration stores/local designer boutiques, but other than that it’s a relatively quiet location I would say.The doorway of IL CAFFE is like a townhouse, with classic red bricks , compare to the very the more plain and subtle doorways of its neighbours. As we walked up to the door, there were 3 white collar guys standing outside which we believed to be one or two of them is/are the owner(s).I don't particular think this place is very Venetian, as people said, but once you walked in you can feel it has a “very masculine features”. Things are either very sharp, shiny, metallic, with bright contrast or it's in deep dark wood. The first few things that you will definitely spot when you walk in is the Italian Flags itself, a yellow helmet, photos of motorbikes, very hipster fridge in, again, Italian Flag pattern, and a little old school luggage box in, also, greenwhitered. Basically allItalian. There were so many little things to admire after your first step into the restaurant and there really wasn’t a minute I wasn’t look around checking out all those fancy interesting details all over the place.Table closer to the door is a long marble high table, one side with high chairs and the other side with a long sofa, while we were offered to be seated at the far end of the café with a more proper dining table and our little corner was just next to the coffee and dessert bar. I didn’t have a chance to see how it’s like upstairs, but my colleague had said good things about it.We had not gave much thought about the menu and we ordered 3 set lunches, all with a starter and a main (where’s my DESSERT ).The Soup: Fresh Cauliflower soup with Italian Black Truffle OilThree of us all ordered the soup for the slightly gloomy day so just to keep us warm. Cauliflower wasn't the something that I would eat when I was a kid simply because it looked wrong. IT'S A BLEACHED BROCCOLI AND I DON'T LIKE IT. I know that sounds weird but that's would I thought throughout my childhood. Based on the flavour and the thickness of the soup, it did taste like a fresh blend with onion/garlic. The truffle oil gave quite a dominating flavour and if I were not told that it's a cauliflower soup I probably would be able to tell what exactly this soup is, except I was yummy, creamy and I was lickingmylips, haha!The Mains Black Truffle Risotto with parmesan cheeseHow many days did I not only ditch my nocarbs plan, and had been eating the most evil food on earth? Haha OMG this is not right but I really cannot resist any food that's with sprinkles of TRUFFLE. And my love of truffle started from a year or two ago, when I had my first TRUFFLE SCRAMBLE EGG at a restaurant @ Sheung Wan. My jaw dropped when I had my first bite and I am in love with whatever truffle related food since then. In Mastserchef AU, risotto is always a death dish because it's so hard it make it right. Basically it's all about believing and relying on your own palates and instincts. I would definitely gave this dish more than a pass just because the like the risotto to be still slightly chewy as well as not too dry. I could totally have this all on my own, despite it's 100% carbs and thick fat creamy sauce The second main spaghetti with cherry tomato, prawn, chilli and cheese (Sorry that's the best I can do, I really don't recall the name )This spaghetti is a way lighter and refreshing option. Fresh tomato and prawn. And I like the handmade spaghetti (This was my wild guess, if it turned out to be outofthemill pasta, don't blame me haahaa) because they wouldn't saturate as easily as ready made pasta.Nothing much to complain except I like it a little bit more spicy, but this is totally personally. (*Tobasco please!)The Third main The super dooper tomato base cheesy pizza with 4 whole olive (man, memory lost...)I am not a fan of thicker crust than this pizza, so that was just about right. Although a lot of people opt for wood fire because of its outfromthegrill flavour, I do prefer pizza out of the oven. As we started eating the pizza my colleague n I started picking out the whole olive out of the pizza, luckily our third person liked olives. Usually I am fine with olives if it's slice into the donut shape and spread around the pizza in smaller pieces. But having to bite the whole thing is a big NAHHHH... because the flavour is just too strong for me.So all in all, our happy face told you that we were all loving the place. Just that I can totally fit in a scoop of gelato to make my meal more complete#confession of a real foodieI think the story because this restaurant and their owners are very interesting to be explored. Apparently, other than this restaurant, one of the owners also own a proper custom tailor store in town. Sounds like someone with strong thoughts/attitude and someone that is being true to himself =) #Lovelife

星期五放假冇野做, 行開上環,試吓呢間。

叫咗意粉、白湯, 三文治同咖啡。

除左三文治,其他都等左非常耐。

意粉唔夠熱,只係暖,又唔彈牙。

白湯特別甜,而且超貴,成三十蚊一碗。

咖啡更加唔掂,咖啡好令人失望。

埋單仲要132蚊。

Coffee was not too strong, probably with an intention to suit HK prople's taste. Good presentation.The spaghetti Bolognese was exceptionally good, with nice texture of the meat sauce in softPasta.

可能因為平日既關係, 黎食lunch既人唔多,我同朋友12:15pm到達, 即刻就有位, 我地揀左坐響靠窗既位置, 望住cafe室內環境既佈置,比人一種好舒適既感覺我地叫左兩個set lunch, 一個係我最愛吃既carbonara + 一枝果汁,另一個係朋友仔叫既三文治+咖啡carbonara既精髓其實就在佢個creamy sauce, 可惜呢度既完全欠奉, 啲意粉又乾又碎, 食得好辛苦, 就黎要用spoon黎食咁滯至於我朋友仔個包...佢都話好普通...但咖啡就ok喎

氣氛真的很好,當我昨晚看到IVY CWK拍的照片,就決定今天要來試試。

因為就在公司對面,假如氣氛佳、食物好,以後不就多一個溝女的好地方?不過我已經名草有主,所以試試之後,只會推薦給單身的朋友跟同事。

世瑛大廈的地址雖然是在永樂街,但是入口在永和街上,在附近混了五年的我老是記不住,只好次次在永樂街上繞來轉去。

看了看Set Lunch的餐牌,沒有我喜歡的,於是決定散點「Ham and Cheese Panini」,再加一杯「Cappuccino」,合計76元。

說貴,更貴的名不符實cafe大把;不過說便宜我也不敢直認其事,起碼左近有幾家便宜一些的。

我不能理解的是,為什麼咖啡帶走一杯28元,但是stay要38元呢?唉。

先送上來的是Cappuccino,水準之上的咖啡。

拉花完整而細緻,咖啡與奶的比例很不錯,溫度也維持得很好,美中不足的是咖啡個性不夠鮮明,而且那soft almond cookie,跟我不是好朋友。

三明治則比較遜色些,麵包是有種特別的香氣,然則Cheese and Ham認真麻麻地。

氣氛真的很好!我最欣賞的是光線明亮而不刺眼,而且室內的擺設讓人覺得非常非常舒服,帶美女來喝杯咖啡絕對不失禮。
