Summary: I couldn't call ACME "bad" (what selfrespecting middleeastern place really is), but it is held back by a small menu with somewhat indefensible prices. The brevity of the menu means you're forced into just a few options when you go, as well as limiting revisitability. The hyped up sourdough pitas were fine, but as ACME's differentiator, they just don't cut it. I didn't get why it was so crowded given its limitations, and the nearby Bedu or even Maison Libanaise are better options for uppermidrange middleeastern food. The upscale version of Elgin St's Baked, ACME has replaced the spot previously occupied by Tate's/Steak on Elgin with a tastefully decorated open kitchen concept, where half the seats at the restaurant are at the kitchen/bar. Thought that this worked pretty well; got to see just how much cumin goes in everything! Service is fine, but they weirdly asked for our picture/fb profile when we made reservations so they could "greet us properly;" they didn't recognize us when we did show up though, so who knows what that was about.The menu is tiny, with just 4 dips, 2 appetizers and 5+1 mains (with the +1 a $405 twofour person seabream that isn't really an option in Covid Feb21). For people who want meat for mains but not innards, you basically have two choices.Here's what we had for 2 people:Baba Ghanoush and pitaAfter figuring out how easy it is to make hummus at home, baba ghanoush is my goto dip at restaurants, and this one wont let you down. Creamy but chunky enough to spread; smokey, savory and dense with flavor; it's probably the best way to eat eggplant (which you barely taste).  It was great with just pita, or as a topping for the other dishes. One note: all of ACME's dishes are packed with spices. I couldn't even tell you which besides cumin and cardamom, but it is very noticeable, and might bother people who are sensitive to it. The homemade sourdough pita to eat with dips is an extra 30$, and was good, if a bit thick for my preferences I prefer thinner, less doughy pitas where the dips/filling can take center stage. While my baguetteinteriorloving friend did enjoy it more than me, we both agreed 30$ for an empty pita is madness. FYI, most of entrees I saw come with a pita, and given their doughyness, are very filling, so take that into account if you are considering ordering extras.      Chicken KebabAgain very heavily spiced, but the Cumin Yogurt and Garlic sauce do a lot to mellow it out, and overall it's pretty tasty. Some pieces were a bit dry though. They roast the chicken chunks in a broiler in the open kitchen ( though I assume they are partly cooked beforehand), and shockingly saw one of the orders being opened and poked at to check for doneness. Clearly they haven't quite figured out the ideal prep or broil timing to ensure consistent results.Lamb Shawarma This cost 210$. I'm not going to say the slowcooked lamb wasn't tender or not full of (spice) flavor, but this really isn't worth the price. The sauces it comes with (a goat cheese cream and Zhoug) are a great accompaniment, and the zhoug (sour/spicy cilantro) especially offsets the heaviness of the lamb. The issue is that the lamb is onenote in flavor and texture, and even with the spinach and the lambsoaked slices of eggplant underneath, it gets old pretty fast.BaklavaSurprisingly good! I'm not a fan of baklava, but this version wasn't as soaked in syrup and soggy as most I've tried. You get the butter of the flaky layers coming through, and the flavor of the nuts shines.  My friend thought it was the best dish of the day! At 60$, it's a bit pricey, but it's obviously freshly made and is packed with nutsI love middleeastern food, and I was excited to see an upscale version of the uberpopular Baked open up. Overall however, because ACME's offerings are so limited and overpriced, it does very little to advance this cuisine in HK. I hope that the dinner menu has more to offer (hard to say as everything closes at 6pm for now), but as it is, I can't imagine returning.

中環新開中東菜 𝐀𝐜𝐦𝐞係𝘉𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 旗下既餐廳!𝘈𝘤𝘮𝘦 同 𝘉𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘥 走截然不同嘅路線,感覺上屬較為高級既中東菜。

不過同樣用上我最鍾意嘅𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩大家可以預先係網上𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬位。

如果兩個人嚟食嘅話,會建議預留𝘣𝘢𝘳枱。

除咗可以欣賞到廚師既手藝,壓迫感亦無卡位咁大。

因為疫情期間,卡位中間都會有塊板隔住,較為狹窄,唔係坐得太舒服。

早餐午餐都會有唔同𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘶,今次午市嚟到先發現 原來最想食既𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵只限於早餐供應▪️ 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙨 $68初嘗𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘴!口感綿滑厚身,鹹香微酸,調味十足,表面仲有原粒爽脆既鷹嘴豆增添口感。

點𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 一流!▪️𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 $30好鍾意𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 既𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦。

厚身漲卜卜,質地超鬆軟!又帶咬口!雖然無平時酸種既香氣,但係口感取勝!好想買多幾塊返屋企做早餐。

▪️𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙗 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖 $210一絲絲既羊肉索滿醬汁,肉質唔會好柴。

硬係覺得味道似曾相識,然後比 @aliensfoodlife 講一講,又真係同茶餐廳嘅俄國牛柳絲有幾分相似。

會配上一塊𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥,質地同樣鬆軟帶煙韌旁邊白色既𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮好𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘺好𝘴𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘩!微酸開胃,有啲似𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦同𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵既混合體。

唔係好食得辣既朋友千奇唔好點太多綠色嘅醬汁!真係好辣,味道仲有少少似青汁,不過配埋羊肉一齊食,就更加突顯左羊肉既甜味。

▪️𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙆𝙚𝙗𝙖𝙗 $185雞胸肉質地唔柴,但亦唔算好滑嫩。

食落淡淡香料味,味道相對其餘兩道菜清淡。

沾上底下既𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵,甜甜鹹鹹又幾唔錯。

呢道菜式同樣配上𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥,不過就唔係𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 而係𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘤 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥。

質地無𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 咁鬆軟之餘,味道偏甜,沾上帶甜椒香既醬汁的確唔錯。

不過如果用左黎點重口味既hummus就會有啲奇怪。

▪️𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙠𝙞𝙣, 𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙞𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 $68本身以為質地會好似磅蛋糕咁厚實,但原來非常濕潤,質地較為柔軟,邊邊位微脆。

帶淡淡既香料味,味道有少少似薑餅人,甜度恰到好處。

面頭既屎屎甜度較高,沙沙口感,帶橙嘅香氣。

整體而言,每道菜式都帶獨特既香料味,富中東風味,不過就唔係每款都好啱口味 (但感覺上比起其他中東菜容易接受),食落無𝘉𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘥 咁驚艷。

我就特別鍾意𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘴同𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥!有機會既話,都會想試下早餐時段先有既𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵,同埋𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘴 & 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥。

鍾意食中東菜既大家可以一試!不過定價就較為高小小。

A new venture from the owner of Baked, the sourdough brunch phenomenon, expanding into Middle Eastern cuisine serving breakfast and lunch.Baba Ganoush $68Not as well known as hummus, but it’s in fact my favorite dip! It’s has even more depth of flavor and earthiness (and a subtle pleasant sour flavor too) thanks to the roasted eggplant. Definitely one of the best baba ganoush in town!Hummus $68Wow such a generous bowl of hummus, classic flavor simple and delicious, I just scoop them one spoon after another like eating ice cream😂. Just a little bit grainy on the texture which I don’t really mind, but some might prefer it to be creamier.Sourdough flatbread $30Hot hot hot! It’s made to order, served piping hot and so puffy. It’s soft yeasty and tender. Perfect complement to those delicious dips. One is definitely not enough, so we added one more to finish those dips (tho at $30, the flatbread is pretty small...) 🤣Green Shakshuka $175Made with green tomatoes, the taste profile differs significantly from the traditional shakshuka, but I like the spicy kick and those crunchy squash. The egg in there was a bit over cooked though, missing the oozy creamy yolk to bind everything.Baklava $30It’s such an iconic dessert in Middle East / greek? not sure about its origin, it’s layered with paper thin filo pastries glazed with sugar syrup and tops with crushed pistachio. It’s so crunchy and you can taste those delicate layers melting in your mouth, it’s like a mille feuille but way lighter and delicate. Surprisingly not too sweet, a perfect dessert to finish the meal.

Acme在餐廳內應如何確保環境衞生?

  • 食物業經營者應加強對食物業處所包括廚房、食物房、洗滌間、廁所(包括水龍頭與廁所把手)和食肆座位間的清潔,定時及在有需要時應用1:99(即把1份漂白水與99 份水混和)的稀釋家用漂白水消毒,以經常保持清潔和適當維護。
  • 在處理被呼吸道分泌物、嘔吐物或排泄物污染的地方,應使用 1:49(即把 1 份漂白水與 49 份水混和)的稀釋家用漂白水。
  • 經常清潔消毒食物接觸面及設備,例如餐具。
  • 經常清潔消毒員工或顧客的頻密接觸點,例如門柄、桌面、餐盤。
  • 確保用作送遞食物的工具不可用於收集餐桌上已使用的餐具及食物殘渣,可考慮以不同顏色或標示來識別工具的不同用途。所有工具都要保持清潔和定時消毒。

餐廳廚房內Acme應如何確保食物衞生?

  • 採用「食物安全五要點」,以正確處理食物:
    1. 精明選擇:選擇安全的原材料
    2. 保持清潔:保持雙手及用具清潔
    3. 生熟分開:分開生熟食物
    4. 煮熟食物:徹底煮熟食物
    5. 安全溫度:把食物存放於安全溫度
    6. 有需要時,提供公筷公羹。
  • 避免公開展示沒有包裝的即食食物(例如烘焙食品)。
  • 如使用即棄手套處理即食食物,要注意手套不能代替清洗雙手,並要正確使用。手套如有損壞、弄污或食物處理人員因暫停工作而把手套除下,便應把手套丟掉;要經常更換手套,更換時和除手套後都要清洗雙手。

對於工的個人衞生餐廳Acme建議是什麼?

  1. 工作人員須謹記:定期檢查體溫
  2. 工作期間,戴上口罩
  3. 咳嗽或打噴嚏時,要用紙巾掩蓋口鼻,並立即將已弄髒的紙巾丟入垃圾桶。然後,以梘液和清水清潔雙手
  4. 保持良好的個人衞生習慣(例如在處理食物前後、進行清潔之後、處理廚餘或垃圾後以及上廁所後要洗手)
  5. 如患有或懷疑受到傳染病感染或出現病徵,例如感冒、腹瀉、嘔吐、黃疸病、發燒、咽喉痛和腹痛,應停止處理食物。如出現呼吸道感染病徵時,應戴上外科口罩及盡早求醫
  6. 洗手時應以梘液和清水清潔雙手,搓手最少 20 秒,用水過清並用抹手紙弄乾。雙手洗乾淨後,不要再直接觸摸水龍頭
  7. (例如先用抹手紙包裹著水龍頭,才把水龍頭關上)

Acme餐廳內大家應如何減少社交接觸?

  1. 為採取以下措施保持員工之間、員工與顧客之間以及顧 客之間的社交距離:
  2. 為顧客提供外賣選擇
  3. 避免搭枱或改動座位安排以減少直接面對面接觸
  4. 在食肆張貼告示或作廣播、或於地面加上標記、提醒顧客在排隊或等候期間保持距離
  5. 在服務櫃枱加設屏障,減少顧客與員工直接面對面接觸
  6. 鼓勵顧客使用非觸式的付款方法(例如:信用卡、手機應用程式等)
  7. 安排員工分批工作、休息及用膳
