We used to come here for brunch back when they were still in their old venue (now Pondi) and were devastated when it closed hence queue the excitement and anticipation when they announced that they were reopening for takeout 🤗Stopped by late one afternoon for a light snack initially chicken momos with okra chips. Placed my order via phone, and twenty minutes later we were there at their door with hot momos in our hands. They offered to let us eat in (there’s one small table for two available on site), or bring over to their other restaurant, Pondi, so we could sit and enjoy the food. The flavours and spices were all superb we ended up spooning the leftover sauce into our mouths (should’ve ordered their naan to mop it all up. Regrets.)Later that week, the cravings struck again, but this time we decided to go all in and get the full TV Combo. The Lamb Rhapsody presented the meat in three gorgeous forms a roti roll, slices of shoulder korma and perfectly grilled ribs, all slathered in silky peppery sauce with pops of tartness provided by the sprinkled pomegranate seeds. We picked the Konkan Cost Fish Cakes as our Shortplate, and oh my, I’m still dreaming about that creamy coconut curry with baby shrimps that the fish cakes were bathed in was it turmeric? cumin? Dying to figure out the mix of spices they use to create that explosion of flavour. The pork rump momos and poppadoms were both delish as well, and really completed the meal. It’s the kind of food that teleports you away from the tiny apartment that you’ve been stuck in for far too long, away from the chaos and panic of our city, to some exotic getaway where you get to just relax and enjoy all these new combinations of flavours that you’ve never had before.So glad that they’re finding a way to make it work despite everyone staying home these days. The owner also offered to deliver the food personally when he heard that I lived in the area (sure they’re on FoodPanda but it’s always better to support small businesses directly, not a fan of the massive cut that these delivery companies take). Can’t wait to try out the rest of their menu soon!
