I liked this restaurant when it was in the old location, so when I read that it has opened again, I decided to come back and try their New Year's Eve dinner, $375 for 4 courses, or add $100 for some bubblies.There was only 2 other tables of people there, and the (very) elderly couple next to us made small talk, and said that they also have been going to this restaurant for 9 years so came back now that it's reopened... speak of nostalgia... made me feel like i'm 80 years old too...the bread basket was lovely, warm, just toasted, and the waiter refilled it without me even glancing over at him. The appetizer was a combo platter, with quiche lorraine, scallop, prawns, beef roll and some other stuff. The soup was tomato soup, which was a bit on the sour side, but not too creamy or heavy, and great for dipping chunks of bread into. The mains were either steak or fillet of cod, both were very nicely presented and cooked, the cod was particularly buttery and just melted in my mouth. For desserts it was either a very dense chocolate cake, or a rather too citrusy lemon and lime tart... made me squirm my face up, but the texture was nice. We didn't go for the bubblies but my bf had a glass of house red, which was quite easy on the palate.The waiters and waitress were very friendly and helpful, and they rushed over to help the gentleman next to our table get up and go to the bathroom and steadied his gait all the way back to his table (he had 2 walking sticks with him). The place is quite spacious and tables nicely set apart, and we had a lot of toys on the table for NYE hat, party poppers, confetti, boa, goodness me... we were like kids with new toys mucking about, haha.
