To whom it may concern,Although I only occasionally drop by Habitu, but I do have had very good experience at the Habitu in Wan Chai, also the one in Hutchison house.Coffee, hot chocolate, pizza and pasta are all so great.However, the one at 39 Taikoo Shing Road giving me the worst experience I ever had in Habitu on last Monday, July 13I went for a fast lunch with my wife, I had the lunch set with pasta, and my wife had a scone and hot chocolate.Apparently the pasta was not freshly make, but absolutely clotted, lumpy, dry and over microwave.The scone was just like mud, and the hot chocolate could be the most disappointed thing of the day, which just like a mixture of Cadbury Chocolate power.We didn't make complain on the staff, since they look busy enough to keep us waiting and waiting, 10 minutes for the pasta, plus another 10 minutes for the coffee and soup (I guess it's because of a miscommunication).I would like to say, the lunch hour was seriously lack of manpower. (staff keep saying apologies) The kitchen was not qualify to provide quality food (comparing your other branches). I'm very sorry to say that I would hesitate to have any meal at Habitu again.

昨日同老媽去太古城行街....行到累見到係個shopping mall中間開左間caffe habitu..所以我就帶左佢飲去飲野休息下.咁我見到d 包點好似好好味..所以我就叫左2杯cafe latte, 一件牛角包, 一件肉桂丹麥包試下.咖啡就無令我地失望..都算好飲..不過相比brunch club既咖啡都係差少少..最失敗係個牛角包...買成$20個可以俾又硬又無牛油香既包人地食...真係好差好唔抵食呀.

This new addition to the Menu @ One Island East offers yet another hangout spot in the area. While Epoch a couple of blocks away was packed for the morning, this place was utterly empty. Being sort of a grabandgo place catering for the nearby office workers, there was this fridge filled will all sort of goodies, and another section for hot food near the door. The comfy seats were tucked at the end of the cafe, perfect for that 3 pm coffee sneak (but beware of the mirrors lining the walls). I still had some time before work this morning, so I decided to eat in anyway. I grabbed a box of those hot breakfasts at the door ($32), a Cherry Tomato Panna Cotta Yoghurt ($18), and ordered a Caffe Misto (strong white coffee, Regular $23) from the till. The label on my box read "Zucchini Frittata with Veal Sausage" . Frittata is a kind of Italian omelette; the version served here was rolled up, in contrast to the traditional pielike consistency. While a bit far from spongy, this frittata tasted light enough to deserve some fresh ground salt and pepper from the selfservice seasoning station. The zucchini was scanty and required some effort to be found. There were 3 veal sausages that were slightly split, presumably from some light panfrying. I actually wouldn't mind had they been boiled. Anyway, they would satisfy any meateater. I liked the sweet carrots and sauteed mushrooms on the side though. For a whooping $32 I'd rather eat this off a plate...After reading the menu at the table I realized that my Panna Cotta Yoghurt was intended to be served with muesli, but then I'd already started eating it already. It was essentially plain yoghurt on top of a layer of panna cotta and cherry tomato compote. Think of it as 2 different types of yoghurt: the fluffy type on the top and the velvety type at the bottom. I expected the cherry tomato compote to be sort of savory but it turned out to be sweet, with that tinge of sourness from the tomatoes, provding most of the sweetness to the whole concoction. There are other flavours available, but the cherry tomato one is quite an innovative try.Caffe Misto is Italian for Cafe au Lait, and it was stronger than I thought. Perhaps I'd been too accustomed to the milky version of Starbucks lattes lately. A fair shot here.This new branch is perhaps the smallest outlet in the Habitu chain to date. But it's not bad if you have the time to sit down and have a coffee. Another "good" thing is that the till lady is not very forthcoming, so you won't be disturbed. Oh, the washroom is clean and spacious too. Enjoy!
