Cucus推介

I had some time to kill before going to yoga practice and decided to try out this new coffee shop that opened up near where I live.Though it says "Gurus" on the store front, the coffee shop area is hidden inside the shop and is called "Cucus". Gurus is the main shop and sells chic and SUPER cool stuff that are pretty expensive. But I'm sure if you ever received one the things they sell as a gift, it'd be all things awesome. At first I thought this place was new. But after talking to the barista, the original shop was near the gas station and had been here for at least four years. They recently moved lower down the hill and expanded with a cafe. I guess, jumping on the cafe in a shop trend (like agnes b cafe, HMV Kafe, etc). The shop is pretty narrow. Stuff they sell is on one side and pretty much every where. The cafe area is one bar table with a lone barista. What they serve is your basic coffee varieties and cronuts from Petite Amanda. Seating, I should note, is at the bar area. The metalic mesh chairs looked chic and not comfortable looking. But upon sitting, it was actually pretty comfy. Though, I'm unsure what this will be like in the summer when you are wearing shorts? Would the metal scrape at your leg? I don't know. What made it uncomfortable is that there is no leg room at the bar table. So you are stretched a bit away from the table from where you are sitting. Perhaps they are gearing more for take away?I ordered a latte and a cronut. The barista was pretty helpful and explained what types of cronuts they had. It seemed they had a pretty good variety. It was then presented to me on a pretty black stone plate.Vanilla Custard Cronut ($18). Provided by Petite Amanda. I honestly don't understand the cronut fad and I think the fad died away in the US. But it's basically if a donut and a croissant had a baby, it'd be called a cronut. It was ok. Super crunchy on the outside. Soft and flakey on the inside. There was a layer of very nice vanilla custard. I think I liked the vanilla custard more than the cronut itself and wished there was more of it.Latte ($35). To me, this was a bit too milky, making the coffee diluted and drowned out. Definitely not a good cup of latte.Service was friendly and gave you a community neighborhood feeling. Something a local neighborhood coffee shop should be. However, seating needs to be more comfortable for it to be more inviting. Coffee was passable. What made this an "ok" review is the cronut was alright and I can now get something from Petite Amanda by just walking around the corner from my home.

傳說中的玩具店遇上咖啡.有得食有得玩。
點了latte及cronut。
Latte溫度剛好,不太熱。
咖啡味濃不奶!正正正!是銅鑼灣區內好味咖啡店。
值得一試!Cronut香脆不油,custard 個最香)可以一次食幾個!
