A friend of ours gets her hair done and her Thai massage fix at this shop near this restaurant, and they do takeaway/delivery to the shop whilst her hair is getting all sorts of treatment. I think she mentioned the owner runs both these joints, and has a sister who also opens a Thai restaurant in Kowloon City. My friend thought the takeaway was excellent so organised a dinner gathering here.It's hard to miss the spot as it's the only fluorescent lime green and lemony yellow shop on the whole dimly lit street. The colours made me feel like I've just stepped into a Teletubbies show. That aside, the place was clean and tidy and the service was friendly.Every dish that we ordered we either doubled or tripled the portions, too much in fact for 8 people, but somehow we managed to polish it off. For starters we had a combo platter with fish and crab cakes, spring rolls and the like, a chicken's feet with crab cake (only 2 of us ate the chicken's feet but they said it was tasty, guess it's a personal choice), papaya salad (spicy with a good tangy punch), pomelo salad (coconut milk version which I've not had before, interesting, though not my cup of tea), chicken and pork satay (succulent and tender), pork neck and even more prawn cakes.Then there's more: chicken green curry (lots of fresh lemongrass and herb), basil fried rice (1 each of chicken, beef and pork), stir fried kale with sardine (weird combo, I would much prefer to have it with salted fish or garlic), and more pad thai.And lastly, dessert was sticky rice with mango, which came overflowing with thick coconut milk but sadly only a few pieces of slightly sour mango.The food was all pretty good, nothing to fault, but somehow I wasn't quite hooked on it, not sure if it's because the colour of the place was making me slightly dizzy and uncomfortable, or whether I just wasn't into Thai food that night. Nothing particular stood out to grab my attention, or perhaps there was just too much food that I couldn't focus on anything in particular. Having said that, one saving grace was that it was pretty damn cheap even with alcohol included, and free corkage of course.
