大惠旺中西美食 is a HK 茶餐厅 style place that serve up a good stirfry, homemade roast pork and chicken, plus warm milk tea. The bunch of us (~10 person) went there for dinner, and was satisfied with the food we had. First, we ordered frenchtoast, freshly made, and really good: Hot, freshly fried toast, with peanut butter sandwiched in between, drown in condense milk and slathered with a huge piece of margarine. You know it is good food when it is so sinful. Then we kick off the real dinner with homemade fresh chicken and roast pork. The roast pork was good, with crispy crackling skin, and very tender meat. The chicken was the gem. It is fresh, and tender, with jelly in between the skin and meat. Chicken is a must order here!The stirfry items we had were served up quick: braised tofu, stirfry broccoli with beef, sweet and sour porkchop. For someone who dislike broccoli, I find the stirfry broccoli here good! It didn't have the "undercooked taste" sometimes encountered in other restaurants, it is cooked just right, for my liking, not too overcooked/undercooked. I also have a bowl of homemade wintermelon soup. No MSG, and made with real fresh ingredients! 足料！Ended the meal with hot milktea. Really nice experience, because the lady boss is very welcoming. With the homecook style meal, it feels like home to dine there. Definitely a little gem in the YauMaTei neighbourhood.
