老婆餅(sweetheart cake or wife cake) used to be my favorite afternoon tea "cake" as I love the chewy and sweet bit inside the pastry. I always admire the chef who can do this perfectly and whenever I have one, I feel the warmth and love from the cake itself and I get the feeling of traditionAs I have not had it for ages, I decided to get a box of 6 from Wing Wah. I quite appreciated the fact that they keep their cake in a warmer which when I had one after I paid, it was the PERFECT temperature. Super Nice~~It tasted like HEAVEN. The sweetness of the winter melon and almond paste combined with the less flavoured outside pastry really well, which no matter I eat 1, 10 ... or even 100, I still like it!!The texture of the middle white melon part was chewy as well as soft and the outer pastry part was quite tender and these 2 textures contrasting really brilliantly to give out the BEST and MOST FABULOUS wife cake in the whole word!!Wordings are just not enough to describe the happiness and appreciation of my heart, I just LOVE it!!
