After reading about this last remaining Hong Kong coconut candy manufacturer, I decided to drop by and take a look since I was in the area.It's easy to miss this store, as it's just one room with a few candies displayed in cardboard boxes, not what you'd expect from a renowned candy manufacturer. They sell Sugus, Japanese milk candies, and some other sweets; some produced by them and some by other manufacturers.The coconut candies, the main focus, come in small or large packages (I think $22 and$30). We originally purchased a small package to gve it a try and I was quite pleased to see that it was Made in Hong Kong. However, as we were leaving, I noticed all of the packing boxes had a Mainland Chinese address. I went back to check and found that the small packages say "Made in Hong Kong" but the large packages say "Made in China"!We asked the seller and he said that the candies were all made in China now, since it was too expensive in Hong Kong. I feel that this is deceptive selling and possibly illegal under labeling laws, but decided not to pursue the issue on the spot.About the candies. The candies are still individually wrapped in their traditional colorful wrapping. Even though there are different colors, the candie are all the same. For those who haven't had it, the aren't soft and chewy nougats. The're actually very hard and you'll crack a tooth trying to bite on one. They had a good coconut taste(hopefully still from actual coconuts and not flavoring) and just the right amount of sweetness.A pity that they moved manufacturering to China. Surely they could've kept it in Hong Kong and charged a few $ more?
