After an early morning hike at Yuen Long area, we planned to buy some take away food back home to eat as we were too tired to stay outside. We chanced upon this little take away stall and decided to give it a try. 越味屋 was located at Yu Wing Path, several minutes walk from Long Ping MTR.Even though it was humble looking that catered for take away, they served a wide range of Vietnamese street food such as sandwich, appetizers, noodles, rice and drinks etc. While chatting with the lady boss did we realized she was from Vietnam, which gave me a feeling that the food should be quite authentic.There will be a free drink for every rice, noodles or sandwich ordered. We chose coke, lemon tea and a cup of iced milk tea as the weather was really hot. Iced milk tea was smooth, with strong tea taste to my liking. Cold vermicelli with fried spring roll and sliced meat Sauce was provided to drop onto the vermicelli, which make it appetizing and smooth. Spring roll was fried till crispy and juicy inside and sliced meat was handmade, which made it chewy and fresh in taste.Vietnamese sandwich with pork neck and chicken Like any sandwich in Vietnam, it contained salad slices, liver paste and Vietnamese spicy sauce. Banh mi was toasted till crispy and was huge and long in size. Pork neck and chicken were chewy and juicy.Vietnamese sandwich with pork chop Pork chop was chewy and juicy as well, going well with the flavour of the banh mi inside. Fried pork in paper thin roll Roll was very soft and thin in texture, and those salad slices were crunchy and fresh, with the pork chewy and juicy. Fried prawn in sugar cane . The skin was fried till crispy and the filling inside was juicy and served hot as well.
