Cicada is one westernised Thai restaurant located in the heart of soho. It has elegant décor with semiopened dining room. I really wanted to try it out because every time I walked pass, it was a full house no matter dinner/lunch.Cuisine: FusionAsianFood rating: 3/10*Service: 4/10 Ambiance: 4/10Price: HK$100 pax* Food Rating: 6/10 is equivalent to 1 Michelin star, 8/10 to two Michelin stars, and 9/10 or above to three Michelin starsKoftas (3/10)Koftas are served with a lightly spiced sauce, which is delicious soaked up with warm flat bread. Clearly not the case at Cicada, the sauce was yogurt base, not spicy at all. The koftas was nicely mixed together, after all, perfect for westerners, not Asian.Samosas (3/10)Vegetarian samosas tend to be the most popular for light snacking. The samosas were filled with a selection of vegetables and spices. The Samasas were freshly cooked, served warm that was not expected. This is because a lot of the restaurants in Soho serve cold samosas. Soy Sauce Pork Rice (3/10)In general it was just ordinary rice; the pork was tender and marinated well. Nothing special or bad about the dish.Chicken with cashew Rice (3/10)Same as the pork rice.This place is a lovely place to gather with friends if you don’t mind the westernised food. The food is actually do taste good, just not authentic. And the unlimited Icetea in this long hot summer is a bargain during lunch!Give me a thumbs up if you like it!

RECOMMENDED: This restaurant is located along side the popular central to midlevel escalator and near Hollywood Road. It's a bustling area and full of night life. The cusine is tapas with a curious mixture of ethnic offerings. Basically, small dishes (2 per person is a good starting point), nice wine list and equally nice pours. Nice music, low lighting and a hip mixed crowd.Dishes are nicely presented (in unusually long stemware and utensils), friendly service and reasonable prices (not cheap, nor expensive). Watch the crowd ascend the escalator.I would definitely return, next door is a Italian themed tapas restaurant by the same owners (word has it equally as good).

Have been here many many times and just love the place.It's always busy and the food is just consistently great!Everything from the seared tuna, the risotto balls, the spicy tofu is really delicious.The food always comes quickly and is fresh and hot.They do some great martini and wine by the glass so it's a perfect destination for after work drinks with food.Recommend that you book at weekends as it is very popular.

We really like this place.We have two girls 12 and 10 and I find the service to be very friendly, high level of hospitality and terrific food.The curried lamb potato balls at the bottom of the menu are sinfully good.You can also order off the menu of the sister restaurant next door to increase an already impressive selection.They have a curried chicken that is very spicy and excellent.When we consider going out Cicada is always on the list, if not for dinner then at least tapas!

I just love how you can order different items from the menu. It really solves my indecisiveness. They also serve great drinks. Cicada is the perfect place for people who work late (me) and want to combine going out for a drink with an informal dinner.
