Followed boyfriend to Sai Ying Pun where he had to do an errand. It was getting late so we decided to have dinner in the area. Not sure what to eat, we came across a place called Hunger Strike. It appeared to serve Mexican. But as boyfriend is from the US, he is always skeptical about any place in Hong Kong that serves Mexican. But he's also always up to give a new place a try because he's still always hoping.The place isn't very big. There are maybe 2 tables and a window seat. It's more geared for take away.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. It also appears the Mexican is more Indian influenced as the fillings are butter chicken and curry beef. No refried beans can be found here!I had a blueberry smoothie. It was tasted exactly like a lassi with a bit of blueberry mixed in. But not a lot. It was ok but I think if I had known it was a lassi, I would have ordered mango.They had something called a Naanizza. Basically a pizza but they use naan as the pizza base. We decided to give it a try and ordered the roasted chicken naanizza ($75). This was fantastic. The use of naan was really good as it was not limp at all but held together well. The chicken was moist and tender. It was well seasoned and had a slight spiciness but not too too much that I couldn't handle it. There was nice amount of cheese to give it a bit of sretch. The sauce used had a bit of a tangy zing to it.Boyfriend also ordered a curried beef quesadilla ($44). I had a bit but I thought it was too spicy for me. He thought it was not spicy at all. It was good though. Size was big as well. The wrap was crispy. The beef was moist and it was pulled apart instead of a mince so more sauce was soaked in.The food was excellent. It was Mexican with an Indian twist which made it even better. Service was friendly as well. Will be back if in the area.

A newly opened restaurant! My colleagues and I were so hungry and we decided to try something new and eat Mexican food. There are a wide range of meat to choose from, all sound attractive and yummy!Curried Beef Quesadilla (10 inches) $44 Curried Beef was mouth watering! Beef was juicy and tender. There were lots of cheese and vegetables inside the quesadilla! Evil yet delicious! Be careful when eating the quesadilla because there would be so much juices dropping out. Portion of the quesadilla was so big, good for sharing with friends. Highly recommended!Hunger Lamb Tacos (6 inches) $46Spicy Pork Neck Quesadilla (10 inches) $48Butter Chicken Quesadilla (10 inches) $48Banana Smoothie +$15 Banana smoothie was fresh and light! Can lessen the heat and spiciness of the curried beef quesadilla. The texture of smoothie was a bit thick and I could taste the flavour of yoghurt. Nice and healthy!
The second branch of Hunger Strike after the Bonham Road shop has 4 kinds of food on offer. Tacos (soft), quesadillas, panini and naanizza (naan pizzas). The prices are very good, around $40 a dish. The quesadillas are a good size for the price and I’ve had butter chicken and curries beef and both were lovely and fresh.I did upgrade $10 for French fries which was a disappointingly small portion and just $6 for a soft drink. Small eating area inside and some window seats. On value it’s recommended.
