I'd read the previous review saying the ugly choco cake was overrated, but I still went against my gut instinct and went to try it out. Big mistake and massive waste of $38. I swear I could've made the same thing from a Betty Crocker supermarket mix, in fact, even better. The cake was dry, the chocolate flavour was lacking and it was a fairly modest size. I was wondering why they called it a "dirty, ugly" chocolate cake, and I think the only reason is because on the plate they smear some frosting to look like a mud stain. I guess the ambience was alright, with hip, chic and quirkymodern furnishings, and the waitresses were quite nice, but I don't think I'll ever go back. It didn't seem to be a particularly popular place either because when I went, it was a nice, Saturday evening around 8:00 pm and it was dead empty. Hm, I have better ways to spend my $38.

說真的，GuGu真係大坑一角的好地方。
非常舒適親切的裝潢，而且遠離銅鑼灣的煩囂，所以即使是周六下午都係個消遣好地方。
可是如果你係為左個Dirty Chocolate Cake而來就不必了。
其實真係冇咩特別，係好典型既Homemade Chocolate Cake. 凍的，早已整好。
但係去了GuGu幾次，我都係覺得佢既All Day Breakfast頗窩心。
唔係特別多款揀，但係完全customised，頗見心思。
啡茶方面，最近只係試過一款茶，最後還是茶包。
I have to say that this restaurant is simply overrated.My friend and I visited the place with high expectation. I tried the ugly chocolate cake and espresso as recommended but neither of them were exceptionally good. With that price, i'd prefer to go to other cafe or cake shop in that region. The only thing i like is the location of the restaurant, never too crowed.
今次特登揸車來試傳說中的Ugly Dirty Chocolate Cake, 但有些失望. 5:00pm, 我地見到一大班店員佔了窗邊sofa位傾計, 所以唯有坐去角落位置。
幸好有個女仔都幾有禮貌serve 我地但她說話太斯文細聲。
我地order左weekend special既Ugly Dirty Chocolate Cake$58 + Toast Set $40. 個chocolate cake賣相一般, 放在淺色碟應該會較討好, 味道麻... 比想像中不夠rich creamy,可能是期望太高吧.$58 to have a very simple cake, cost too much!反而, Toast Set是由火腿, 雞肉, 磨菇, 蕃茄合併的, 味道唔錯, 特別係mushroom 好香口, 不過咁樣$40食多士法真係有d貴咯! 因為我在家也會弄這款toast. 包檸茶coffee, 味道OK la~! 總而言之, 呢度啱chating 多些, not for real tasty dining.
依間餐廳同隔離街嘅穌棧係走相同路線，無論餐牌、價錢到環境都相若，但依間餐廳俾我嘅初次印象明顯較好，是關佢有兩樣嘢做得俾對手好。
首先佢個名改得吸引，Gugu聽落同貓有關，儘管店內無任何貓嘅跡象，但個名夠catching；反之穌棧個名太宗教，反而令一般食客卻步。
其次依度嘅裝修好靚，落地玻璃加牆上嘅畫好容易已經會吸引到經過嘅途人，而且店內嘅擺設不時會改變，俾人有耳目一新嘅感覺。
但當然有利亦有弊，如此透明度高有如令食客置身金魚缸，食嘢俾途人睇住晒亦令人有啲唔舒服，加上鋪頭附近完全冇景可言，本蟲會建議店方可考慮離地四呎以下改用不透明玻璃窗，咁就可以保留一啲神秘感。
至於食物，依度同穌棧一樣都有類似嘅問題，就係選擇好少而且種類奇怪，我都唔明咁多款意粉佢哋兩間都偏偏鍾情於我覺得最冇口感嘅長通粉，而肉腸或漢堡之類嘅食物攞嚟做主菜亦好似削咗少少。
佢哋晚餐通常有四款，但其實來嚟來去都係循環餐牌裡面嗰十零款嘢，我諗大廚要花啲心思諗啲新菜式。
服務方面，印象中穌棧通常係男仔睇鋪，依度就好多時都係得兩個女仔，佢哋唔知係太怕醜定係兼顧唔到店內嘅嘢，所以好多時有人行到埋門口睇餐牌佢哋都唔識得拉客，加上又唔會點樣同顧客撘訕推薦菜式，令到佢哋失去咗好多機會。
另外由於店內音樂太響，佢哋個吧枱又太高，顧客召喚好多時佢哋都留意唔到，所以我諗依度最適合嗰啲唔鍾意人騷擾嘅食客。
近來我亦試過佢哋嘅下午茶，咖啡同蛋糕都做得唔錯，不過手腳就慢咗啲。
故此都係嗰個忠告：趕時間就千祈唔好幫襯依類小鋪，否則急死你都未有得食。
