Taking over Jalan on Peel Street, which I hadn’t had a chance to try it out sadly, was Mamma Always Said. I adore this shop front so much, and got to take a picture before the lunch crowd appeared on a Monday afternoon.You can see that a lot of creativity had been put into menu design. This eyecatching wall of posters definitely attracts your attention and gives you a brief idea about the food served.This menu book is even more amusing. Even though there are only two pages of menu in this notebook, the remaining blank pages are for customers to scribble! Since Mamma Always Said is relatively new, I would love to visit again later to read this menu book again.My friend and I ordered three dishes to share, all three of them were so delicious and filling, which gave us so much satisfaction.The Malay Spiced Chicken Burger on the left was superb for the freshly fried chicken, fluffy bun, and the specialMalay spicy sauce. The fries were so so good too! No wonder the staff recommended this one to us! You should try it too!Kimchi & Cheese Sandwich (middle) might be less appealing at first, but the nice mixture of kimchi and cheese gave us a legit foodgasm! You could never imagine spicy kimchi and melted cheese could make such a perfect grilled cheese sandwich! Definitely the best one I have in town so far.Roast Cauliflower was ordered to ease our mind — “Oh yeah, we have some veggies too!”. This half portion felt more like a full portion! And the seasoning on top with salsa and coriander were refreshing and tasted a bit funny with the cauliflower. Enjoyable though.We were amazed to see how these homemade lemonade were made! Syrup, soda water, sprite and a slice of lemon on top! We were skeptical at first, but definitely legit!Definitely coming back for these yummy and inexpensive comforting food!

Ordered takeaway from the Meraki Restaurant Group website for this new resto Mama Always Said. I'm happy that restaurant groups have the drive and capacity to promote their restaurants to go through this tough time attracting customers to order delivery. I am super impressed by the food available.  😍😍😍😍Ordered a meal deal with fresh bread, eggplant fritter salad, roasted cauliflower, pasta and jam doughnuts 🍩 😋 👌  The meal deals were $200 each or $380 for two and you could whatsapp the group to order anything from their group's restaurants. My favorite was the octopus salad add on ($125)  and the Nutella cookie 🍪 (@$30)

I had lunch today and tried the kimchi Sandwich and the chicken laksa type burger with home made French fries and it was really good and inexpensive.Service was relax and friendly great place for lunch break
