I visited the restaurant with relatively low expections due to my personal bias towards shops with old HK style decor, which to me, areusually full of gimmicks and lack of quality. Yet, the dinning journey turns out to be surprisingly pleasant.The restaurant is newly opened and as could be imagined under the tough COVID19 situation, I was the only customer at that time. The staff were very friendly and made a lot of great recommendations, including the lo mein with black garlic sauce, the soup and the freshly brewed coffee.The Noodles:While it may not be a bowl of authentic car son noodles, the noodles have checked a lot of boxes:Black Garlic Sauce and Chili Sauce:The black garlic sauce was recommended by the staff and it is like sweet oyster sauce. The overall taste is pleasant and go well with the noodles. Just I wish it is a bit more garlicky. The homemade chili sauce got a slight heat and is very flavourful. It goes well with the noodles and the black garlic sauce. As reminded by the staff, the chili sauce on the table is the same as the one you can choose from the menu, so basically you don't have to pick it in your order. Chicken leg:The chicken leg is boneless, tender and flavourful. It will not be the most tender chicken you have ever tasted but it excels being a car son noodles side dish. I believe the ginger garlic paste is homemade as well.Pork shoulder:Tender and tasty but do not offer much differentiation from the competition.Homemade dumpling:The dumplings are in mini size. Taste not bad but I wish there are more fillings inside.The Soup and the Freshly Brewed Coffee:The soup is fulfilling, especially after a long work day. You can immediately tell the soup is without MSG yet the taste is far from bland. The portion size is about two bowls which is just right for me.The coffee was recommended by the staff and the quality is quite decent at cha chaan teng level. Personally, I would prefer a fullerbodied taste but can't complain for the price and nature of the restaurant. Free Dessert:I was offered with free dessert. Not sure if it is a launch event or it will be a long term offering. Tasted fairly good as a free dessert. Overall, the dinning experience is enjoyable. I usually do not write food review but I reckon the restaurant deserves a complement considering its good foods, exceptional service and the hard work overcoming the challenges brought by the pandemic as a new venture. Keep it up.

最近經過，上環新紀元廣場，見到新開一間小店 <石塘咀湯品食堂>！單看食堂兩個字，只想到幾餸飯配湯，反而見到餐牌幾驚喜！早餐 $18~$36 不等 (8:00~11:00am 供應)當中，最吸引我莫過於排檔麵！排檔麵：自家製魚腐、雲耳素菜餃 米粉 $36 鮮美少油的鮮魚湯底討好！自家製魚腐及雲耳素菜餃各兩件，！雲耳素菜餃以薄滑的雲吞皮包住，其實都頗為鬆散，餡料是清甜的甘筍絲及清爽的雲耳絲！自家製魚腐即炸，外脆內軟富彈性！混合調味料提升味道！米粉幾爽口又吸湯！熱谷咕 +$5單看英文 Cocoa 就知跟可可有關，相信是朱古力飲品，還要加入燕麥，既然健康就不怕嚐試吧！入口比預期頗甜！而且水溫熱燙！
