For lunch today, Picky Eater wanted to try the Japanese restaurant at the newly opened Hari Hotel. The decor was cozy. We ended up ordering the sashimi set, which was ironic as Picky Eater would only eat sashimi in a proper Sashimi eatery. My sashimi on rice was presented in an appealing fashion in a round box. (Picky Eater didn’t like the salmon, saying that no one ate raw salmon in Japan unless it was from the deep sea.) I didn’t have expectations, thought mine was ok; and the side of deep fried vegetables that came with it was surprisingly yummy. Coconut mochi as dessert was yummy too. Service was attentive. In summary, nice comfy vibes. Would prob go back again if in the Wanchai area, prob try the cooked choices.
sunday lunch walked in,brought to a very comfy sofa seats just right near the terrace,selected of the soft shell crab tempura for starter,topped with fine shredded shallots and the crab real crispy;that good to follow with a glass of rose and some fujui sake,then the robata set for main,the skewers of chicken, ribeye & salmon are nicely seasoned and grilled that all of them remains juicy,other of the executive box set,with braised and lightly panfried short rib,really tender, but no stronge seasoning that totally taste of its original, and few slices of sashimi are fresh but that didn’t come along with soy sauce,veg tempura, some pickles, rice & miso soup with along for the set.dessert of mochi makes great finishes for lunch..Overall environment relaxing with friendly services, i would visit again for some a la carte & drinks next
