Decided to try out this relatively new cake shop for a family member's birthday! 🎂The brownie/cake was very rich in cocoa flavour. Personally, I think it could have been a bit sweeter but since the cocoa is so prominent and strong it would be perfect for those who prefer their chocolate with a more bitter flavour. The portion was just right for the birthday celebration. We had around 8 people and it was enough since the brownie was so rich and dense in texture that the cocoa can get a bit heavy. It's perfect for those who want a bit of dessert after a meal but don't want to overkill.Between the two cakes, I liked the strawberry shortcake better because it was sweeter which is more for my liking. The whipped cream is smooth and rich while the sponge cake is nicely layered with strawberry chunks, it is also very softly textured which makes a very satisfying bite. It has a sweeter tone but did not overpower the strawberries at all. This cake is perfect for those who love a sweet but light dessert that allows you to taste all the elements of a slice. We only got a slice to try but will definitely return for more. 🍓

Sogo on anniversary sale again! This new cafe had been under my radar screen as their cakes looked quite big and appealing. They offered 10% discount for their Burnt Basque Cheese Cake so we decided to try it out.We were told that the original price was $35 and $31.5 was the discounted price.The cake was nicely packed in a paper box. Burnt Basque Cheese Cake at $31.5The cheese cake was pretty cold and was really smooth. But it could really have been richer. It was not salty and was not too sweet either appropriately flavoured. The top layer offered a little bit of burnt flavour which did enhance the flavour a little bit. Overall it was a really smooth and refreshing cheese cake but I would prefer something richer.
