Been wanting to try Phoenix Lava for a while! They’re known for their explosive custard buns! I tried the durian one even though I don’t like durian😅 They just ran out of durian bun, and so we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to steam up a new batch. The bun was hot and soft and the custard was really watery, but I could taste the durian flavor. My friend got the chocolate bun and she said the custard was so watered down that it didn’t taste like chocolate... Another friend got the pork bun and he said it just tasted like a char siu bao. Another got the cheese bacon bun and he said that it’s like char siu bao with cheese 😂 I also got the coix seed drink, and it was pretty bland. The place didn’t really meet my expectations and I don’t think I’ll be coming back any time soon 😅
